Here is a list of things I did not do in 2021:
Perform in a car.
Sing outdoors in the rain.
Perform in a parking garage.
Write a novel.
Learn to make a souffle.

Supported my students, as best I could.
Felt grateful for San Diego Parks and Recreation Department for enabling me to swim hundreds and hundreds of laps in outdoor pools.
Learned to be grateful for every minute in which I could and did sing.
Discovered composers that deserve to be heard, and spent time again with extraordinary music that has been a part of my practice for over thirty years.
I mourned my friends and colleagues who passed away, and I feel the loss of them every day.
I discovered peace in the desert landscape. That’s something I still do.
